Default AK - Caring for Giants Tour

I am not sure if this has been posted - if so I missed it. I noticed a new area while on the Safari ride, where guests were observing elephants. I looked it up and it is the following tour. Priced economically at $30 PP.

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/ev...ng-for-giants/

"During this 60-minute experience, you’ll meet with dedicated animal specialists who provide for the care and wellness of our African elephant herd. They’ll give you a glimpse into their day-to-day responsibilities as they provide fascinating facts about the elephants.

African cultural representatives will also be on hand to share stories of Disney’s conservation efforts dedicated to the preservation of wild populations throughout their homeland.

Throughout this experience, you’ll be able to observe the elephants from approximately 80 to 100 feet away—so you’ll enjoy a closer encounter with the elephants than you would during other in-park experiences."

Did this on 4/27 and loved it! Very informative and the two CMs who met us at the overlook were excellent. It's been a long while since I've met people who so obviously love their job!

Highly recommend to anyone who finds the beasts interesting.

Sounds awesome! Do you happen to know if it's one where reservations in advance are needed, or is it similar to Behind the Seeds, where walk-ups are typically available?

Can't wait to try this one. Has anyone done it? Pictures?

A lot would depend on space available. We’ve done the tour twice and both were awesome and informative. Both times were a little different in the information we received, I’d be willing to do it again. You get to spend a lot of time looking at the elephants. I did book ahead for both trips since I wanted to be sure my day was planned around the tour.

And we were told the entire $30 goes toward Disney’s Conservation! When booking let them know that you’re DVC and/or AP holder. For our trip in December (during Christmas week) we received a 10% discount.

Okay, now I am booking in Dec! It sounds wonderful. And, the price really isn't bad - for Disney!

Cool. Maybe we have your safari vehicle in the background of some of our pictures.

I did this tour twice. Once with adult DD and once with DH. We liked it very much. Loved that the $30 was donated. (We also got a button)

It was quite short....seemed about an hour.
