We used to go over MLK weekend and found the crowds to be worse than our March spring breaks. The last time we went it was insane! We vowed on the plane to never go on that weekend again. Remember, local schools are closed that day, too.

that's because public school systems no longer believe in 5 day school weeks.

Out of the entire school year, the local districts have no two consecutive weeks without a day off or early dismissal. Any 3 day weekend there is, off they go to Disney World.

Wow! That’s crazy and definitely not the case here. They try to make them go to school as much as possible. The joke around here is that the school board won’t be happy until the kids are in school year-round. The teachers and staff wouldn’t like that very much though.

It's a combination of testing, Jewish and Christian holidays, public holidays, teachers' convention, seasonal breaks, and a couple of other things.

We're the state that packs WDW in early November when the teachers "go to their convention!"
