We’ll be sailing on HAL this April. Got a fantastic balcony rate to the “ Tropical Caribbean”. One port is Key West, which will be a first for us. I’m anxious to try this cruiseline. It will be our first ever “non Disney” cruise....

We sailed for the first time on the Magic, as well, and while we like the Fantasy, the Magic is definitely our first love. That's the reason why if we do ever sail on Royal Caribbean it will be on the older, smaller ships. It's been recommended to me that I look at sailings on the Radiance class ships or the Navigator class ships.

Celebrity is another line we would look at for quality service, quieter ships, and good food. Not quite ready for the Holland American geriatric set, though I think Celebrity might be pushing it in that direction!

Oops. And I absolutely did not mean you in my above post!!

Please do let us know how you like HAL. I would seriously look at them for a Norwegian itinerary for both price and length of sailing. They are one of the few that will go all the to the Northern Cape.

Well....our Cuba/Key West cruise ports were changed to Nassau and Princess Cays. Found out yesterday. So we cancelled that. We booked specifically for Cuba (and liked Key West too). Been to Nassau too many times, no need to overpay for that (Cuba cruise cost us a bit more than a Bahamas cruise). Email said it was due to port congestion but then we were also told the port was closing down for repairs.

Now we are back to considering HAL Canada cruise. The one that goes from Boston and thru the seaway onto Quebec and finishes in Montreal. Maybe July 2020.

Have fun!!! Cannot wait to hear about it. What cabin did you book? We are on deck 3, lower promenade, aft on Amsterdam. The dining room is above us. Our deck has an outside deck (promenade I suppose) we can walk on.

Great Report. Thanks. I'm sailing on AoS in March, my first non-Disney cruise, so I found the RCL info very interesting.

Can't wait to hear about that. I want to do one of those mega ships sometime.

Aside from the 2020 HAL cruise we also booked NCL's Pride of America Hawaiian cruise for 2021 for our 25th Anniversary (which is also DH's birthday). So maybe 2022 we can try a RCL mega ship.
