Default Gift Card Interest Poll

zafiro is working on negotiating a deal with BJ's for a ~10% discount on Disney gift card purchases over in this thread:
http://www.mouseowners.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=110166

There's something like ~$100k-$200k of commitments to help with the volume discount, but scrolling through pages of responses to add them up as more chime in is likely time consuming. So- to help, respond to this poll with your desired purchase amount. It will be a lot easier to sum-product the counts for this poll result. Hope this helps.

I love when someone says something like sum-product. That points to a fellow Excel nerd

Cheers.

ha! I thought I might get some flak for that, but it was so much more efficient to say than spelling it all out

too bad there's no need to use vlookup in regular conversation.

I'd be up for $1000 but only if it's 13% or more. Otherwise I'll wait for other deals to pop up .

We're not interested at this time, but would be interested at the end of the year, as I imagine many others would also - just before MF time. Then, we'll probably be looking for around $5k

Ack! Sum is addition. Product is multiplication.

On the GC’s, I’m probably in for $1k, just would want to know the details on how this would work.

Thanks for doing this!!!

The first response from Disney Corporate was not enticing and I've gone back asking for a sharpened pencil. I'm sure they're off for the weekend now. I'm hoping to hear something by Monday afternoon. I'm not sure why they'd give up so much margin to a middleman - other than single transaction simplicity over several transactions, but what a simple issue to handle.

This was their initial response:
• Disney gift cards are currently only redeemable in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
• Discount of Disney Gift Cards is based on annual purchase volume:
o $25K-$100K - 2% discount
o $100K-$500K - 5% discount
o $500K-$3M – 7% discount
o $3M+ - 10% discount

• We offer gift cards in any denomination from $15 - $1000 in any quantity as well
• You can purchase either physical or eGift Cards.
• Cards can be purchased at any time and receive the discount since discount depends on annual purchase volume.

My guess is the contact from BJs is hoping to pocket the 1% difference from his offer of 9% and assuming his annual purchase of at least $3M+ and he's on the same corporate GC deal. On our, say $300,000, that's a mere $3000 in skim. My guess is that he gets a better deal from Disney than 10%.
