I'd be in for $1000 right now. At the end of the year, I'd probably be willing to go to $4000 for maintenance fees.

I've never used Gift Cards to pay for my MFs -- I thought it wasn't "technically" allowed, but they did allow you to do it?

I'd definitely do this as long as I don't end up in a snafu on redeeming them for my MFs. I'd hate to buy a large amount only to end up with a problem.

Not a problem. I’ve done so for the last two years and many here much longer than that. My MF’s are about $3500 so 10-12% off is a good thing. Like many I combine the smaller amounts to $1000 on the Disney gift card site before I go on to pay MF’s. You then choose the “pay by contract” option. It will let you pay less than the full amount. That process times 2,3,4 as necessary until you have paid in full.

I have used gift cards to pay maintenance fees, and I know many other folks have as well. That said, I do share your caution. I don't like to hold gift cards. As soon as I get them, I apply them to my next year's dues or buy annual passes. I mean, I think it's always possible for Disney to decide they will no longer accept gift cards for dues. I wouldn't want to get stuck with $20,000 in gift cards that I cannot use for dues.

Sephorin, how far ahead can you pre-pay? For instance letís say you came across a good deal now? Can you apply cards now towards 2020?

Yes! I've actually started paying my 2020 dues. From the Annual Dues Overview, click "Make a Payment." Select "Pay by Contract." Then select "Pay Other Amount."

We've also paid around 25% of next years dues with the cards and it shown as a credit.

And as there's no limit, then I suppose if you exceed next years dues then that will become a credit for 2021.
