Default Annual pass discount

I thought I read somewhere that the annual pass discount on dining and shop purchases only goes through the end of this year? I may be confusing it with another discount. Can anyone confirm this?

In celebration of the 45th anniversary of the MK, Disney added a 20% dining discount to many locations that didn't previously offer a discount. This discount was scheduled to end on 9/30, but was extended through 12/23.

They also upped the merchandise discount to 20% at a number of locations.

Does anyone know what the discounts were before? I'm assuming they should go back to that after 12/23?

For the dining discount, most places that currently offer 20% didn't have a discount previously. Those places will most likely return to no discount.

The merchandise discount was either nothing or 10% (depending on location).

From what I've read, the increased discount on merchandise is not scheduled to end. The ending dates have only been tied to the enhanced dining discounts.

Or maybe it will go back to the tiered offering where the higher cost passes were given 20% and others 10%.

The current WDW passholder cards don't indicate what pass level the individual has. As long as they use generic AP cards, it will be the same discount for everyone.

They do have codes to scan though if Disney wanted to start using them.

When did they have tiered offerings on discounts? I just honestly don't remember when that happened. They only started the Gold/Platinum levels 2 years ago though and we were AP then.
