If you want to push the envelope you could make the seven year old a infant in your MDE account but still link a 3-9 year old ticket to he or she. That way they would still get a band that would be linked to your reservation and i do believe it would work for EMH. Only problem would be no Dinning plan for he or she.

Has anyone tried this?

This is a little different, but for example could you have 5 people in a 4 person DVC room and have the 5th person just not linked to the room? You would all have to buy your own tickets anyway. I'm just wondering because I know that is how a lot of people do it to stay in the value resorts with 5, but do they actually watch to make sure you have the right amount of people when you are getting your DVC room?

Again apologies we are a party of 4 and usually do not stay in studios...but for future reference- if the 5th is "bring your own bedding" do they still get EMH and ME?

Is this the 5th added on through call to MS or can it be done online?

My oldest is starting to bring his girlfriend- so seriously considering downsizing from 2bdrs -1 brds. No way they are going behind closed doors yet.

I'm trying boardwalk, but it seems to be all booked up.
For my last stay and many other stays, I do not even have to check-in for my DVC room. I get a text and email with the room number and can go straight to the room to enter.

That being said you definitely could pull off 5 people in the 4 person room. You will not be able too add them to the reservation or link their magic bands to the stay but that is not a big deal. The person still needs a park ticket to enter during extra magic hours and then have them with you. I would split the adults up and 1 adult take one child and the other adult take 2 children when entering for EMH.

I do not remember any of the parks scanning all bands for EMH anytime in the past few years.

The 5th person can only be added to a points stay. Anyone booking direct with Disney will be told no. It was a way of addressing the situation where a studio at some escorts could sleep 5 but a 1 bedroom couldn't.

The 5th person gets all the same perks as everyone else. Not sure if they have to be added by MS, my guess is yes.

Yes, you can get away with having extra people sleep in the room. However the extra person will not have an MB that is linked to the room so that person does not get “on site” benefits. The extra person is not eligible for ME, EMH, DDP and might even have complications accessing the pool in some resorts. This may or may not be a problem depending on which of these actually matter and whether or not bands are scanned for everyone in a party. It’s a gamble and it depends on how important it is to have all the on site benefits.

I just want to add that if you're renting, a lot of owners would shy away from booking a studio that is meant for 4 if you're a family of 5.

The following studios will accommodate 5 people: BWV, BCV, BRV, PVB and VGF. So OP, you don't have to restrict yourself to BWV. You might want to open your search for the other resorts.

If someone renting points were caught with five in a four person studio, would that be problematic for the owner? Could there be repercussions of some sort?

Just curious, would the OP be able to book fast passes at the 60 day window for the 5th person not on the reservation?

Could be another potential problem.
