![]() I hope this topic is in the right forum.
I have Facebook and Instagram, but for our upcoming trip I want to be able to send pictures to just a few family and friends and not to my entire FB and IG portfolio. I'm aware of the Instagram DIRECT feature. What I hate about that is if you've sent previous posts to someone privately separate or as part of a group, it continues the conversation instead of creating a new one and I wanted our trip pictures to be separate from those, especially for the instagram illiterate like DMIL. I can delete the previous conversations but it only deletes on my end, not on the other persons end. ![]() Is it easy to have a 2nd Instagram account for this purpose or is there an easier solution out there that I'm not aware of? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, I'm not all that tech savvy. ![]()

![]() You can put your Facebook peeps in a group, call them family or F&F or something, and then when you post pics to FB you can only allow that group to see them.

![]() ![]() I used to do a private blog for our trips but 1) it was too time consuming and 2) most family/friends couldn't be bothered to view it every day. ![]()

![]() Hmmm, I don't use IG so I am not sure how that works.
You could post pics to a photo site like Photobucket and just send folks the link to it.

![]() Two options that would work well for this are:
- Flickr "guest pass" - Google Photos "shared album" Have fun! |

![]() I use Google Photos for all mine. It's set to autobackup everything on my phones, tablets and hard drives (you tell it what folders to watch). Then I can create albums and add photos to them. You can share the folder with friends in certain circles. If you're on a group trip, you can even allow them to add photos to the album.
Google Photos remain private by default. You have to selectively share them. Also Google has some of the best photo editing software. On Android I always install Snapseed if I want to do something in post. HDR is a good feature if you have a nicely illuminated color photo. Best thing about Google Photos and Flickr is all the free storage. There is no storage limit on Google Photos as long as you select "Best Quality up to 16mp per image". I have every photo I've ever taken or saved since 2000 and many more old scanned images from before the 21st century. (i.e. old family photos). I think the library is well over 100,000 photos, 367gb large now. I keep everything backed up on several physical HDDs as well. All organized by date and activity. Google Photos just makes it easier to find things. Another perk is if you have a Chromecast setup on your TVs you can configure them to display images from a photo album you create. That way your TV becomes your art display stand.

![]() Do they all have iPhones? If so, you could set up a shared album in Photos. That's the way my family & I share photos. Anyone subscribed can choose to get notifications if they want. You can also invite other subscribers to post pictures the album as well.
