Default VGC and Aulani trip - which to do first?

Hello,

My wife wants to do both VGC and Aulani on our trip next year in September. We live in Michigan. I was thinking of a few days at VGC followed by a longer trip to Aulani. We generally use 1-bedrooms, so we might get lucky at VGC.

I just wanted opinions on which to do first. Long trip to the island, then back to Cali, and then back home, or Cali, island, and long trip home.

Not sure that it matters, but thought I would ask.

Thanks

I have no advice...haven't been to either.
But think about how you vacation. If sitting and relaxing is your vacation favorite...then finish at aulani.

For myself, I could do one maybe two days tops just relaxing.....after exporing the hotel.

I love wdw vacation because I'm always doing something.

I guess you'll have to decide on your priorities.

I havenít been to Aulani but VGC is my second home. I would do VGC last and shorten your trip home. Also, vgc can still be relaxing (especially in a one bedroom) and September will still allow you to lounge at the pool. They will have a new pool bar/eatery by next September as well.

I find that jet lag is much worse going west to east, so I would do long trip then Aulani then VGC and Home. There are lots of things to do on Oahu or you can just relax if thatís your thing!

Don't do Disneyland on the weekend if it is an option. With millions of locals, if it is a nice weekend, it will probably get pretty busy.

I fully intend on doing VGC on both sides of my eventual Aulani getaway. Even just a day or two on either end.

It's much worse going west to east than east to west.

Do the longer flight out to Aulani first. Then work your way back home with a stop for a few days in CA.

Some of it may be determined by the days you can get booked at CA too if you have set dates and can't work around them and definitely want to do VGC. But if you have your choice I easily say Aulani then DL.

Agreed. Adjusting to Hawaii time was pretty easy, but getting back on schedule after coming back was way tougher. Plus the time difference from Aulani to California is only 3 hours, so I feel like the tougher adjustment could be made much faster that way.

We did Aulani then stopped at VGC for a couple of days on our way back. The time adjustment was much more challenging coming back from Hawaii, so I am glad we stopped at California after Hawaii.
