cool. This year I'll be 13, but then next year, I get to go all way back to 5. What fun. I was about 5 or 6 the first time we went to Disney in the mid 70s. Stayed at Contemporary. Only memories are of the monorail and that big mural, riding Space Mtn, Mr Toad, that skeleton pictures in Haunted Mansion (shut my eyes after seeing that, kept them closed the whole ride...) and figuring out how best to use those ticket books

Next trip was the free trip Mama won off the radio around 1985. promoting Epcot. Mid January. Epcot was a ghost town. Great fun eating though. Did Hoop de Doo, Italian restaurant (Mama got up and sang), Mexican pavilion, etc. Norway was not open yet. or Morocco. and you could still ride the double decker bus.

Next trip not until 2000, and many since.

A couple of boomers here. Our first trip was in 1986 with my husband, dad and 3 & 6 yr old sons. We stayed at the Poly and the whole experience was so mind blowing that my husband and I actually had a mutual hallucination the first night after arriving back to our home in Massachusetts. We both woke from sleep and sat bolt upright in bed looking around our darkened bedroom thinking we were still on some Disney ride. Eyes wide open, we kept asking each other “what ride is this”? Then DH jumps out of bed and starts putting on his pants while yelling at me to put my clothes on because “the ride is going to be over soon”! My head finally starts to clear and I tell him to hold on...... We’re at home! The whole thing lasted less than a minute, but WOW talk about Disney magic (or exhaustion )
