I have read that Disney does not want to have to deal with collecting for unpaid passes in 50 states. Some people would sign up for the monthly payment plan, take their trip and never make another payment. That would leave Disney dealing with the collection laws in all 50 states, instead of the 2 current states - Florida and California.

Bingo! Seriously -- this is something everyone could do themselves. Yes -- technically it would require waiting a year to set it up -- but if you already have an AP right now, start saving monthly, and by the time the renewal period comes around, you'll have enough money saved up.

Also -- I am all for not making the parks anymore crowded than they already are...and with SWL coming up and then the 50th right after that -- it's going to be insane the next 3 years.

For myself, I'd just as soon pay it and get it over with. Monthly payments are much more trouble than they're worth.

Then there is the added bonus of rewards on the credit card when paying all at once.

I honestly feel for families of 4 or more trying to pay all at once and can see where monthly payments would be attractive to fit it into the budget.

Iím not sure how it works in FL, but in CA, you can use a credit card for monthly payments associated with APs, so you would still qualify for credit card points.
