Default Anyone Care to Speculate on DVC Next Ticket Offer?

It seems like DVC doesn't do AP ticket offers all that often. This last offer that ended on 1/3/18 seemed like a nice deal and I TRIED very hard to get my family to bridge our 7 day PH tickets to an AP and commit to a second Disney trip this year, buy failed. I considered just doing my ticket, but ultimately didn't.

For those of you that have read some of my comments over the last couple years you may remember that I've commented how my family is Disney'd out. So right now getting my family to take one Disney trip is like moving a mountain, needless to say they weren't excited about a second Disney trip in the same year.

So... I'm just curious if anyone thinks that DVC will have a new ticket offer this year. They added a bunch of Moonlight Magic dates, maybe special AP ticket deals for DVC members is going to be more run of the mill too? I'm thinking I may need to start taking some solo Disney trips and an AP would be a nice excuse to do that

Our current AP deal is pretty good IMO. I love the ability to get Gold for the AP since it's not hugely expensive compared to PH tickets.

I think if they are going to do a deal, we won't hear about it until summer. I wouldn't count on it though but boy it would be nice to have the PAP+ deal on a regular basis.

I think people forget about the Gold AP which is a continuous AP promotion for DVC members. If you are not traveling during a blackout day it's a very good deal and the same price as the special PAP offer was that just ended. Otherwise there is a discount off of other AP's as well. What isn't done too often is a ticket deal and they often come with some different requirements and are often not too different in prices from Undercover tourist tickets.

IMO the extra special AP offers come when WDW says attendance is down.

Default 4 days tickets

My guess is they will do something similar to the 4 parks 4 days tickets. 1 park each day. I don't look for an AP special in addition to the Gold thing

My own speculation-- It wouldn't shock me if there is a special deal that's offered in spring through summer to counter those who are "waiting" until Star Wars land is open to return to WDW. I would be surprised if the deal ran though the end of the year which would allow discount tickets to be used when Star Wars land does open.

I guess I could consider the "regular" Gold AP if I don't have kids in tow. I'll have to go back and look at blackout dates. Thanks for nudging me to relook at this

When DVC does the special APs they really are a great deal!

The blockout dates are the week before & after Easter and (roughly) Christmas through New Years Day.

The basic rule of thumb for Gold seems to be:

No spring break (2 weeks at varying times during March/April)
No Christmas (last 2 weeks of year through 1/2)

Just depends on your park day needs...

Default My Vote

My vote for a new ticket offer? Non-expiring tickets! Come on, Disney. Bring those back!
