Goodness. If you were already eligible for perks, you still are. Starting 2/25, the 25-point add-on wonít do it anymore, youíll have to buy 75 points direct for benefits. If you already have perks either because of when you bought resale (prior to April 2016) or the fact that you added on 25 points direct already, youíre fine. Iím pretty sure that perks are always subject to change, but eligibility of perks isnít. It has to do with the legal jargon in your deeds. If Disney could make it to where every owner had to buy more to get perks, trust me, they would!

I'm honestly shocked this wasn't done earlier and that the minimum isn't higher. Seriously with all the 'just add on 25 points' I had a very strong feeling it was coming.

I’m sure they will still sell 25 point contracts, but you must accumulate 75 points or more to receive the membership card.
So you could direct purchase PVB, Aulani and CCV for 25 each and meet the threshold.
Or buy 25 points for a point bump if you already have the card or working toward getting 1
I knew when they raised prices they were preparing to amp up the small point pressure. 1st the increase on 1 time points, then across the board price increases except VB, now a increase in benefit minimums.
All my points are direct and I don’t have any 25 point contracts.
I also made sure DS’s were deeded before all these recent announcements.
Amazing how influential social media appears to impact sales.

I agree. The fact that it jumped a full 50 points is a bit shocking though.

The second part of the blurb is what I saw first, the first bit just clarifies about the grandfathering.

That was my understanding of it. Almost like the first bit was added as a result of queries.

What they haven't specified is what the minimum add-on will be from Feb 25th. I could see them having 2 different minimums, depending on whether you already have direct points.
I would think that if you already own more than 75pts direct then the 25 pt minimum would stay the same. 75pt direct would be the new minimum if you do not already own direct.

Actually I thought they would have bumped it to 100 pts direct given the price increases at certain resorts and the jump in ticket prices today.

Not to me, I truly expected 100 minimum.

Where did you read that? Just curious.
