It made me sad because I enjoy Pinot Noir myself.
If you come back and want Pinot, the southern end of the valleys (the Carneros region) is reputed to be the best, and I have to agree. It spans both Napa and Sonoma and has just the kind of nasty volcanic soil that makes for great Pinot.

Cheers.

I'm going to post some pics of myself and my DH which is way out of my comfort zone. I feel like it is only fair considering I look at others' pics with their TR's. Hopefully I am doing this correctly.

View from the balcony of the home we stayed in. No clue why I'm standing like that. Haha.

Golden Gate Bridge shot from Fort Point.

This is the vineyard at William Hill behind us. Beautiful vineyard up in the hills.

View of the Vineyard at Keenan Winery up in the mountains.

They weren't going to do it for free no matter how much I tried. :/ It was worth it! The room was 100 sq. ft. bigger with an exterior view and a king bed. Best $40 I had spent in a while! The best part about it was that our room was ready when we showed up at noon! When does that happen?!? My sister and her DH got upgraded to a suite because they are in the process of becoming members of the Fairmont timeshare. Their room was ridiculous. It had a clear view of Alcatraz out of their picture window.
Last time I went to SF, we went to Alcatraz and my mom left me there...true story. I was reading placards and my sister, whom is ten years younger wanted to go swimming, they couldn't find me, so they left me. This was the same time the movie "The Rock" came out, so the whole rest of the time were jokes about the rock.

Next time you should hit up Walla Walla.

As I write this, I realize the state pen is in Walla Walla...so I mean the wine stuff in Walla Walla.

Too funny. As soon as we picked our hotel, I kept picturing Sean Connery saying, "And I want a suite at The Fairmont." I'm glad you didn't get held hostage by a bunch of rogue ex-military guys who wanted to release a deadly gas into the city! That movie is so ridiculous, but I've seen it probably 10 times. Haha.
