Have a great trip! I need a new job, reading your TR"s make me jealous....a few weeks in FL is a dream!

Do you typically get Lake View rooms? It seems when I check they are the last to book, standard and theme park seem to be the most popular. Or did you book theme park view?

Default Pictures!!!!!

As promised, here ya go...

Getting ourselves ready to see the new Beauty and the Beast movie and showing off our best Disney doos. Everyone kept calling us "prince" and "princess" yesterday and wondering what kingdom/story we were from. It was so funny.

(In my spare time, I've taken up sewing. I made all the hats and skirts you see in my photos. Also have a couple really nice warm cloaks and ponchos for cover up. It's my addiction, according to my dad. In fact there's a funny story related to it this trip.

We have this very nice velvet & sherpa blanket we bring on trips. I asked Dad to pack it up Friday night. We didn't realize until we got down here that he actually grabbed a bag of fabric instead. So I've got 6 yards of red plush fleece, white and ivory fur. I just need a sewing machine.)

Papa getting his Disney doo. His old stylists have retired, but their trainee Dianne remembered how he likes it done.

I touched it up yesterday and added purple goo & more glitter.

Springtime in the Magic Kingdom is almost as magical as Halloween and Christmas. I forgot how lovely it is to escape to in the cold barren winter.

Did you know there's a new Muppet show by Hall of Presidents? We just caught the last one our first day. Runs all morning until 4:45pm. Love Miss Piggy as King Georgette and Georgette Washington.

Lunch at Diamond Horseshoe is like a park version of Hoop Dee Doo. Only misses the fried chicken and Can Can dancers.

That meal put us in a food coma for 3 hours. Not pictured is the huge bowl of salad, cornbread and s'mores brownies. You can have all you want to eat for $35. I loved the beef pot roast. GpaM devoured the pulled pork. Even the roasted turkey is yummy. Juicy and well-marinated. Smoked sausage was a little overdone and they could ease the cooking time on the corn on the cob, but it was still tender and juicy.

Lunch with friends at the Skipper's Canteen. You gotta check this place out if for no other reason than the memorabilia. I got a:

Schweitzer Slush in a Jungle Skipper Canteen Souvenir Mug - Frozen Apple Juice and Passion Fruit topped with Bursting Green Apple Boba Balls, first concocted by the noted explorer and humanitarian, Dr. Albert Slush - $14.50

Love my little silver canteen mug. It's now my cold drink cup in the room.

Check out those book titles.

And here he is getting ready for fireworks in Magic Kingdom. This is in our super secret favorite spot. (Yes we found a new one following the big Castle foreground reconstruction.) This spot makes every fireworks show panoramic. NYE and Hallowishes are even better.

There's even a Castle.

Love the new Castle evening show too. Once Upon a Time is beautiful. Fireworks at the end are much bigger and better than I expected.

BTW, this was my dad on the trip down to Florida. See how tired and run down he looks?

A few days at Disney turns him into this...

I'm convinced every 80+ year old needs a week at Disney... at least the Grandpa Mohawk style of Disney. Turns them into 8 year olds again.

I loved the muppet shows. A greatw job with the jokes, puns, and story telling. It was a nice welcome addition to the parks. I worry that it will not last too long because of costs to the actors and then the daily confetti cost for those streamers.

Thanks for always sharing your trips with us.

Your dad doesn't look like the same man in those two photos! Much prefer how robust and healthy he looks in the Disney version!

You both look so happy in the picture with Belle!!

Enjoy your vacation!

Your trip reports are always wonderful to read, and I have to say the pictures make me smile. Love the story about the fabric.
