Napa Rose? Meh. Why?

I went once and had something along the lines of the Portobello Mushroom and Burrata Cheese "Canneloni" with Spring's Garden Vegetables and Golden Tomato Lemongrass Essence. It was "OK" but the portion was small for the price and the service was just awkward (stiff, cold, boring). Not a restaurant I intend to repeat ... especially for the prices.

Of course, the simple takeaway is that this restaurant is simply not my style. In the Disneyland Resort complex I prefer Brennen's Jazz Kitchen. I enjoy the environment (except for any seating near the live music), the staff are friendly and generally "on top of things" and the food is comforting.

Splitsville is now open in Downtown Disney and you can dine without having to bowl.

Had that - won't be going back soon. Would take Napa Rose anytime although we enjoyed the food at Ralph Brennans. Have had some really tremendous meals at Napa Rose though.

Have enjoyed Napa Rose twice...yummy good. The service was a little “stiff” at first, but the servers loosened up quickly. First time, the chef made a special treat for us. It was unexpected and appreciated after having a terrible experience at another signature. Second time, the chef came out and spoke with us to go over my DH’s request. Great food, great service.

Carthay Circle was a miss and then a hit. The first visit was a disaster. We gave it another chance a year later and it was wonderful. Steakhouse 55 was really good both times. The bone-in ribeye for two is to die for. Ate at the bar once and in the dining room another time. Both experiences were very good.

I highly recommend all three.

We has an awesome experience at Napa Rose.

We had the Hamachi Tartare asn an appetizer and it was very good.

I had the Fish of the day for $42 and DW had a seafood special that was not on menu (thinking Scallops)

We did pair with a Sancerre.

For Dessert we had the sorbet.

Our server was very professional and did a wonderful job.

If the entire party are adults I would suggest the Chef's Bar at the Napa Rose with the Chef's menu over the general seating. If there are two or more of you the typical program is small tasting portions of most items on the menu (you will both get different items) and one custom course made by the chef. The seating is at the bar on either side of the pass, we prefer the right side of the pass because you can also watch the dessert station and pass from there.

If you have kids or a second evening we also like Carthay Circle.

Not as fancy, but the food at Story Teller's Cafe and Hearthstone Lounge are both very good.

In park, Carnation Cafe was surprisingly good.

And super casual, try Bengal BBQ

We also did Napa Rose and loved it. It was an expensive evening, but we did the chef's counter and chef created a unique plate for each of us, will definitely be going back. Steakhouse 55 is also very good (but again, not inexpensive).
