Hmm.... The refurb plans submitted with the permit don't show any major design change othe than the support columns.

It only makes sense to bring it in to another resort. It doesn't have any check in facilities, or many other amenities for that point. It's got to have some type of administrative support. It can't run as a stand alone property. SSR would be the most logical since THV is already part of the Master Property.

Now, as for the direct road? It can be done. The Orange line on the picture below shows the existing cart path. Widen it a few feet, replace the little bridge and voila!

Here is how THV sits in relation to the other resorts:

Default Treehouse Villas

How exciting...DH and I passed the Treehouse Villas along the waterway while renting a boat during our honeymoon stay in POR in 1992 when they were still up and running. We would see people up and dancing and partying and wondering if they knew that everyone on the waterways could see them at night with the curtains open. LOL. We would love to stay there if they opened them again.

Make sure you close your curtains...

Unhappy question

I know I should not listen to the Disney boat drivers but three of them driving us to DTD this trip from OKW kept saying how the tree houses were going to be TORN down and new structures built?????????????????????????????????????
I almost cried at this suggestion.........I mean I understand if they have to be refurbished but TORN down is just too much for me to accept.
Anyone know if this is what they are suggesting --a total tear down and rebuild???

Ahhhhhhhhhhh heart is so sad if this is true. History gone.

Hugs Mel

This is the plan... The new structures will be very similar to the old ones, but they will be completely new. See www.dvcnews.com for details.

We were told a couple of years ago that the THV were first discontinued use because they did not fulfill the American Disabilities act because of the lack of elevators and the amount of $ it would cost to add them wouldn't be worth the number of people they could accomadate....
Not sure how much merit this has but it makes sense that some major reconstuction would need done...
