Default Which dates would you pick?

We are thinking about staying at our home resort during MLK weekend in 2020. Do you think with Star Wars Land opening close that time that we should consider moving our trip to Spring Break instead? Our break is after Easter and I know it is going to be insane. Just not sure what would be worse. We wonít be able to do the summer or pull our kids out of school this time, since we are going in the fall of 2019.

Thanks!!!!

Which is your home resort ? I think all 2020 will be insane at least at the studios . If you are at an Epcot Resort you can walk to two parks which will help a lot.

Just relax and enjoy the trip. You know going in it will crowded. Just do what is a priority for you and the rest of the time just enjoy being at wdw .

SW:GE will open some time between October and early December this year.

Spring Break will be more insane than MLK weekend, I think. People don’t often travel as much for that weekend due to just being 3 days and so close to the holidays.

Where is your resort? From what I’m hearing, I would recommend booking at 11 months since people seem to be holding their fire until they can travel to see SW:GE. I think all resorts will book faster for 2020 than normal (and for longer trips), and those closer to DHS (gondola or walking distance) will experience the highest demand for sure.

Indeed, I suspect Spring Break could be much busier than usual since that’s the closest time after opening that most families can travel.

Dirk

My vote is for MLK weekend.

I agree with Dirk. Although I think that either date will be busy, MLK weekend is just a weekend, and Spring Break is a whole week. I'd probably look at MLK weekend because you are also just coming off of the Dec/Jan holiday time, and MLK is only a couple weeks later. Maybe less people will be inclined to travel for a 3 day weekend.

I am going to add another vote for MLK weekend. Galaxyís Edge will impact crowds for a very long time. If you combine those crowds with the usual spring break or Easter crowds it could be very challenging.

Our home is at AKL.😊 I want to book right at 11 months, so it is already appoarching...so I really wanted to go ahead and have a game plan. This helps a lot! I know both will be busy, but it is all we can manage this time.😉

Will the two trip durations be the same? If you are going to do 3 days either time, I would definitely choose MLK weekend. If you can stay 7+ days over Spring Break, however, that might tip the scales for me. Those extra days would be invaluable when it comes to trying to grab FP+ for SW, FoP, etc...

We tend to do one or two long weekends a year when we can. Usually Saturday to Wednesday. My husband canít take a week at a time off.
