Default FP 30-day booking tips?

We are DVC members but... we also have a timeshare that we will use as well and stay offsite. When we do this, we can’t book FastPasses until 30 days out.

Last stay (8 days in Dec 2019) we stayed offsite and barely got any good FPasses. Like only one FOP and no SlinkyDog.

Any tips or strategies for 30 days out?

My main tip, if you can't find what you want for your entire group, try smaller numbers with overlapping times. I was once able to get 4 separate individual FP with different times but they all overlapped and we were able to use together.

If you do succeed at this, keep in mind the grace period of 5 minutes before and 15 after.

The other tip would be to keep trying, refreshing over and over, including the day of, and you can find some unexpected things. I have seen a Mine Train on the day of, and others that are hard to get.

If it’s any consolation we did mid November 2018 and we only could get 1 FOP and no slinky. That was 60 days out and i was on the mark to book. You just get what you can and check daily to change.

I just googled to find it. A great informative site from the UK Disney with a British Accent? I also liked the Universal Mardi Gras postings and lots of great help for DVCers. How come they can make it so easy for trip planning?

Very nice - I will check that out. Looks like a nice tool.

I remember someone once posting a tip about refreshing to get FPs but I can't find it.

That’s pretty much the tip. Keep refreshing since inventory is constantly in Flux. Especially at magic kingdom.

Also, if you’re trying to get a particular ride and the next time available is way too late, you’re better off taking it and then using the modify function to try and get a better time. This strategy is known as “tap, grab, and modify.”

The tap refers to tapping into your last FP and while in line, grabbing the next FP you want, and then modifying it to a better time.
