Default How many DVC members are there?

Does anyone know if somewhere Disney details out the amount of members they have?

I thought it might be interesting to know how many they have, and potentially at what resorts. This may also help to understand why certain rooms book up faster at some properties versus others.

I don't know the answer but that's a very interesting question. However, it prompts a different question. How many owners are there vs. how many contracts are there?

I've wondered this myself, to see what a constituency we would be - i.e. how important are we as a block of people to Disney?

Assuming an average ownership of 200 (I've heard estimates a little lower than this, but I'm trying to come up with a conservative number), I get:

AKV 36,996
BCV 15,135
BLT 28,663
BWV 24,444
HHI 6,844
OKW 38,374
SSR 70,146
VB 8,082
VGC 5,684
VGF 12,601
VWL 9,809

for some reason I couldn't find totals at other resorts on my quick search. These 11 total 256,778. But, we're missing 7. So basically, it looks like not a huge number compared to the total number of people who visit each year. Even if you say "but they often visit more than once a year" that's still only 500k, assuming an average of 2 visits.

Where are you "getting" the numbers posted for the resorts? Is this in some DVC document that is shared yearly? I would imagine the numbers would change based on ROFR and sales. Do you think "Disney" counts as an owner of a contract when total numbers are calculated?

Don't know about members but this is the point distribution by UY so it tells how many points are owned by members. Could maybe estimate an average contract size and estimate how many members. But that likely will be off.

That's not the one I found, but the totals are very similar.

The link I posted is a year old. So numbers would be a bit different now, specifically for CCV.

Even so, We're looking at somewhere around 300k - 350k people. at 2 vists per year, that's 700k. Say there are 4 people in each group, that's 2.8 million people. A quick google search says 19 million people visited WDW last year. So that's around 15%. A sizeable block, if my estimates are close. I suspect my numbers are high actually. I know that we take 3 people, go about 2 out of any 3 years, and own less points than my estimate.

Average DVC is contract is around 150 points. The number of owners and the number of contracts are not equal.
