In fairness, Disney canceled a chunk of reservations through a computer glitch a few weeks ago (around 45,000 I think), but I'm not sure if they were ADRs or room reservations and then booked over those slots. However, I believe they made phone calls to follow up since they had the cancellation records.

Lesson learned: ALWAYS have access to your confirmation numbers. I put them into my calendar app on the iPhone and save the email in a gmail folder marked "Disney reservations" so I can retrieve them anytime, anywhere.

They also could have looked up her reservation by phone number so if she didn't offer one, I'm betting she didn't have a ressie or was confused about date, time, or place.

Dirk

We have all learned to keep our ressies # with us.
Being a horses arse never helps the situation.
Take the walk up or not. Grab a QS meal or not.
Another reason to relax on vaca.

Default too funny!

I thought I was the only one crazy enough to go to the World for Christmas and New Years and then go back again for spring break, the 2 busiest times of the year!

When we were there for Christmas, I had made several reservations knowing how busy it was, One night trying to get my dd10 and ds11 to leave the pool for a dinner reservation, my daughter said, "Mom, quit reservating!" what does she know!

This trip was planned last minute so I had only 1 reservation for the entire week before we left home. I was totally surprised by how much availability there still was, I was able to book from my iphone on the mobile site while in the parks the day of. I had to be flexible with the times but, it worked out quite well.

Crud. Wish I would have thought of that! She was pretty sketchy looking though. My luck she would have been packing a concealed weapon. I have thank her for making our waiting time fly by.

Okay, so this happened to me at Chefs de France. I had a ressie, they could not find the ressie. She asked if I wanted to be on the walk up list, I said sure, then went to find my confirmation number while I waited (I figured if I could not find it, at least I would be able to eat eventually...). We found our confirmation number and discovered we had the right place, wrong time. We were about 40 minutes early. Whoops!

After I explained my screw up to the girl at the podium, she had us seated within 10 minutes of us showing up (30 minutes before our ressie) - she was very nice about it.
The point being, you can get more flies with honey...you do not have to be rude to get a seat!

There seem to be so many ways to go with that, but I'll use the obvious "That's what she said."

The case in point being you took it the way most good people would "my bad if I can't find my confirmation number". I totally agree with the honey idea and playing cute and a little bit dingy has never failed me either.
