I found I could not get enough info when planning our son's 1st trip to Disney, so I figured I would help out the next guy. We stayed at VWL fro March 4,2010 - March 10, 2010 and LOVED it.We were in room 3543 and it was very nice, it faced Bay Lake and there was a peekaboo view if the Villas pool. I was sooo happy we did not have a parking lot view, although I don't even think the rooms on the other side of the builiding did, I think they might have caught a glimpse ofg the buses coming and going though. There were 3 of us, myself, DH and DS who is 7. I found the room to be perfect, maybe a tiny bit small, but even with the chill that was in the air, we did not spend much time in our room, so the size was not an issue. The kitchenette was great to have, we made coffee and a small breakfast in the room almost every morning and it was nice to have snacks in the room to bring with us everyday. They could supply a few more paper plates or put reusable plastic ones in the room. They do supply drinking glasses and mugs, we also had a can opener and corkscrew, which was nice. I ordered groceries from garden grocer and that was AWESOME!! They were there when we arrived. The VWL is GORGEOUS!!! So Rustic and the Villas are set right beside the Lodge itself. We used both pools and hot tubs, they were heated, thank goodness cuz it was chilly...Having the boat to MK was great!!! It came very often and the ride was scenic and never too crowded. My DS was tired at the ened of the day after touring the parks and swimming almost every afternoon, so a few nights we rented movies from the gift shop, he loved that. It took a few minutes to figure out the DVD player, but no biggee. On our last day we had a 1/2 hour to spare before we caught the Magical Express to the airport so we rented bikes and then wished we had done it sooner, it was great, and I don't love to bike, but it was nice and flat and a pretty ride. We ate at the Roaring Forks cafe a few times, the Roast Beef sandwich with Boursin Cheese was YUMMY!!! and the Breakfast was great, my DS LOVED the pancakes and he said the chicken nuggets were the best he had ever had! The prices were reasonable. The pull out couch was actually more comfortable than the bed that was in our room, the bed was a little too soft, there were plenty of pillows, we did have to request an extra blanket for the pull out couch and it was delivered in about 5 minutes, GREAT SERVICE!!! The tub was BIG, there is soap and shampoo and conditioner, and it was no big deal not to have new towles delivered everydday, we just hung them so they would dry and a few times we brought some back from the pool area and that worked for us. I would just assume not have a cleaning person coming in my room everyday. There was no Internet cable to get online, which wasn't tragic for us, as it might be some people. I'm sure if I had called they would have brought one up for us. We saw alot of wildlife right outside our room, a family of deer, some duckilings by the pool, geckos and ardvarks too, I think it added to the woodsy feel of the VWL:) I hope I didn't ramble too much. I really wanted to get a new post on here.

We stayed 3rd Week DEC 2009. Left the day the Big Crowds showed up for Christmas Break. The sofa bed was great for our 4yr daughter and 2yr son, but maybee not for adult. After reading these post. I thought studio were only on the first floor. It was great to walk outside and have breakfast. View was ok. One of the best thing VWL is the boat ride to MK. My wife love the walk from Lobby to our room with the sound effect down the path to the DVC rooms. Quick Service resturant was good, better then one at CBR. Now it is a long walk from DVC rooms to Quck Servcie resturant.
Loved the ablity to rent dvd. Rooms are very clean. Internet was speed was great. If you bring a child that need crib, they have them in the rooms, along with iron w/board, hairdryer, they had coffee cups and few tumblers.

We stayed at VWL in March 2010 and absolutely LOVED the resort! The architecture with all the stone and wood, as well as the many fireplaces were all just beautiful. The lodge (inside and out) is so eye-catching for both adults and children. We enjoyed the quiet nature of the Villas building, and although our room was at the VERY end of the long hallway, we only had about a 5 minute walk to Roaring Fork. I do wish - like another reviewer - that there was a mug refill station a bit closer to the Villas, but it still wasn't too terrible. Since it rained some during our trip, I did appreciate that we could easily walk to the quick-service dining and other areas within the lodge without ever having to get wet. (We are staying at SSR this fall, and I am hoping for a dry week!)
We have two young children, ages 3 and 7, and a studio worked out just fine for us. With the kitchenette and the small table, we were able to eat oatmeal and cereal in our room for breakfast. At night, our children were so tired that they fell asleep even while DH and I watched TV in bed. My only complaint is that the tap water smelled and tasted bad. Don't know what the deal is with that, but drinking the water from the tap was just out of the question, and you know how much a bottle of water costs at Disney! Needless to say, the refillable mugs were quite handy.
We ate dinner at Whispering Canyon the day we arrived, and it was a fun way to kick-off our vacation. The food is good, although not amazing, but the overall restaurant experience was fun for our whole family. The kids loved their milkshakes!
We also loved the boat ride to MK. With young children, that's where we spent most of our time. It was so quick, and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a boat. (Maybe we just had good timing. I don't know.)
I highly recommend the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. It is one of our favorite vacation spots. We will be visiting Saratoga Springs around Halloween this fall. I hope to be able to write a similarly positive review after that trip!

We stayed here in March 2010, it was fabulous (even during the crowds of Spring Break). We didn't have much of a view (bus and parking) but it was pretty much covered over by the trees and other buildings. No noise at all. We thought the bus service was absolutely great compared to other resorts. Everything was clean and crisp. We enjoyed it so much that we are looking at buying more points here, have another trip booked there and are making it our first choice generally.
Just to update, we have stayed at VWL 6 more times for about 10 more weeks and our original post is still accurate. We have not had a bad room or a bad experience. The CM are all super and the resort is the best!
