My wife and I just returned from a stay in room 5004 on the Giraffe trail. We loved our 1 bedroom value villa.
When we arrived. the one thing that we were a little disappointed in was the view. We had requested savanna, but in the value category, the view is not guaranteed. So we knew when we saw the room number that we had a pool view. Well,. not exactly. We had a view of the roof of Boma with the great aromas of Jiko making us hungry every time we were on the balcony.
When you enter the room, you are in the kitchen. We cooked four dinners there and had breakfast in the room all but one morning of our 12. To the right of the kitchen was the door into the lockoff studio followed by a large closet.
Beyond the kitchen was the dining table to the right, followed by a dresser with the flat screen TV above. Past that was a single chair. To the left was the entrance to the hall to the master bedroom and bath, followed by an end table, the sleeper sofa, and another end table.
The master bedroom was small but comfortable, with a king size bed, closet, dresser like the one in the living area with another flat screen, and a cool desk that was set up for a laptop. (love the free Internet access!)
The bathroom was large. We had double sinks, a private room for the toilet, and a combination whirlpool tub/shower. This made for a big step into the shower. We had the sunset scene in tile on the shower wall.
Our room was clean and everything worked perfectly.
Our overall view of the villa was that it was a perfect size for the two of us. A family with 2 small children could also use the room, but 4 adults might feel a little crowded.
The value villas are about 3.5 feet shorter than the standard and savanna view rooms at Jambo.
We will definitely stay in a value 1 bedroom again. For the points, it can't be beat!

We stayed in 5110 a 1BR value with a savannah view in ostrich trail. The room was the first room on the right as you entered the hallway. It is on the opposite side of the lobby from the elevators, but still convenient. It is a savannah view and it was a nice view, very few animals came up that far. A few did come up when they put the food out, but it's kind of at the top of the savannah and most animals stayed farther out. But still it is a value room and any view of the savannah for those points is great! No complaints from me.

The room was comfortable and in good condition. We did have one maintenance issue, the hot water wasn't working in one of the sinks in the BR, but we called maintenance and it was fixed promptly. It wasn't actually broken, just turned off some where.

We had 4 adults staying in the room for three of the five nights we were there. We had plenty of room. It would have been more convenient to have the room with the toilet have an entrance off the hall rather than be in the BR, but we managed fine.
There were two sinks in the BR and a whirlpool tub/shower combo. The tub/shower combo was great with lots of room, but there was a big step to get in and out of the tub.

The hide-abed was reported as comfortable by our friends. The master bedroom was comfortable also, but the door and the bed touched every time the door was fully opened or closed. The beside table was also behind the door, so if it was open, you had to close it to get back there. Again, not a big deal, just something we noted.

It was wonderful to have a full kitchen, even though we really only used to to make breakfast and heat up out left over pizza when we were there. It has a place setting for 8, so even with 4 people you have plenty of tableware and could fill the dishwasher before actually having to run it.
We would definitely stay in a 1BR value again. Even with 4 adults it wasn't bad, although the ones sleeping on the hid-abed loose some privacy.
