Pros: Beautiful lodge, sunrise safari, animal views, service
Cons: didn't refill concierge snacks very quickly

First off - this lodge is beautiful. It sorta takes your breath away when you first walk in. We stayed in room 6205, which was only 3 doors down from the concierge lounge, so no complaints on the location AT ALL. Our room overlooked the Sunset Savannah, so we saw Giraffe, Zebras, Ostrich, and a few others. We did see the construction but it wasn't too bad. There was NO SMELL off the savannah at all - which surprised me! We were awakened every morning by a few animals making noise and heard at least once the lion roar around sun up. The morning concierge offerings were great. You could definitely eat a full breakfast there. Oatmeal, cereal, juices, pastries, coffees - it was really great for breakfast. The later offerings were mostly just snacks and definitely not meals. The dinner time offerings were good, again, for appetizers. There were people clearly making meals out of the appetizers - but the problem with that was they did not refill quickly at all. If you weren't out there at 5 pm, things were gone and you waited awhile. We just skipped it and grabbed a few drinks. The African Smoothie offered daily is delicious! I asked for,and received, the recipe - but I don't know if it violates any rules here to post it?

Our room was large, but we did not have 2 bathrooms, as the photo above shows. No big deal, but I had promised the kids their own bathroom - and they pointed that out repeatedly to me. Smile The kitchen was nice, but we were on the dining plan which, coupled with concierge, was WAY TOO MUCH FOOD!!! We had to eat so often when we weren't even close to being hungry, so we will not likely do both ever again. The rooms are very dark, as has been stated before, and I should have brought a few 'pop lights' to put places for extra light. We left on the oven light at night for the kids so they could get to the bathroom without getting hurt. The nightly turndown service was great. Very friendly CMs. My kids learned about several African countries by asking questions. There are several other savannah views that are nice as well. The pool is huge and great. The nighttime savannah viewing with night vision goggles is great.

Great place to stay - if we ever have the points saved up again, I will stay concierge!

Pros: beautiful lodge, great service, savannah view

We thought the animal kingdom lodge conceirge level was excellent. We had a 1 bedroom, nice kitchen with island, living room with pull out sleeper and sleeper chair. Very large balcony with savannah view. Loved the flat screen tv's. Big, roomy bathroom with plenty of towels and little extras, like toothbrush and toothpaste, mouthwash, aloe lotion.... I felt the rooms were all of good size.

The CM's couldn't be nicer, and always available for your needs.
The selections for the different times of day were good. I'm not a fan of spicy food but my DH is and he enjoyed the wings and sauces offered. I was surprised at how everything was very plentiful at all times.
It was nice to try new things, such as african soups and vegtables.
It is a dark atmosphere, so a few little extra lights would of been good, but it was all fine. We never heard any construction at all, but we could see the workers from the balcony, but never a distraction.
We would definatly stay there again.

Pros: drinks and snack at all hourse, beautiful resort, excellent cm's
Cons: having to use the card for elevators is annoying, No rooms have savannah view

We splurged this time for the concierge and it was a nice treat. I have 2 little girls, so the never ending supply of chocolate milk and apple juice was great!
The breakfast was a nice variety of cereal, oatmeal, pastries, and bagels.
Lunch snack were goldfish, snack mix, mixed nuts, potato chips.
The evening spread could be used as dinner a few nights as it was food from Boma and Jiko; stews, ribs, rice, etc... but I wouldn't rely on it the whole time.e
And the night cap cordials were nice too, however, they did run out of Kahlua and the other liquors every night, so if you're set on a drink, get there earlier than later.

After a week straight of rain in May, I'm kinda sorta starting to miss the mouse.:earboywav [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
